LILY MAY ARMSTONG
??
Died April 12, 1871
D E LEE ARMSTRONG
??
??
(marker but not legible)
No record of purchase of Lot.
The engraving on the stones is mostly illegible, but They may be the children of J. Armstrong. We do know that William Armstrong owned the Elbert Story farm. He received it as a Civil War grant, but was unable to hold it so in 1877, he sold to Story. This is the SE 80 of Sec 2 Elmwood Prec. There are many Armstrongs in the Greenwood and Alvo areas but we have been unable to trace these graves.
These graves seem to be the oldest in Emmanuel Cemetery. Burials occurred before the church was built.
