No record of purchase of Lot G (West), but Mrs. Vera Blatspieler, daughter of the Eisenhut’s, gave $50 on September 7, 1978 for care of lot.
Karl Eisenhut (Charlie) was born Gais, Switzerland. Immigrated to US before Ellis Island was established. No record of relatives. Husband of Elisabeth Honegger Eisenhut. Were painter and paperhanger in Murdock. Lived across street north of hotel. Had 4 daughters: Valerie, Vera, Ruth, and Etta. Vera was the only child that lived. Vera married Dr. Blatspieler of Tobias, NE. Karl Eisenhut committed suicide in his home in Murdock. Daughter Vera then went to live with the Gillespies who operated the hotel.
Elisabeth Honegger Eisenhut was born in Chur, Switzerland. Immigrated to the US in 1892. A marriage had been arranged earlier by a Mrs. Kaufman of Plattsmouth who met Elisabeth in NY and took her to Cass County. Elisabeth married Karl Eisenhut. See above for children. Elisabeth died in Lincoln hospital.
No children’s graves are marked, but it is possible that the three are buried on the lot.
