1. Valentine Hay born Hesse-Darmstadt Germany. Parents were Andrew and Mary Barret Hay. Valentine had 10 brothers and sisters. Hay was a blacksmith. In 1840 immigrated to Wisconsin. In 1874 came to Cass County. Settled in Sec. 1 Stove Creek Pres.
Husband of Saloma Hay. Children of Valentine and Saloma were W.H., Mary, D.E., George, C.V. , P.E., J.T., Lucy, E.B., and L.A.
George Hay worked in a store in Wabash. George married Eliza Cowel. C.V. Hay clerked in Weeping Water Prec. The family were devout members of Center-ville Raptist Church Sec 31 Center Prec. and later of Emmanuel Church.
2. Saloma Foulstick hay born Alsace Germany. Immigrated to US with parents to Stove Creek Prec. married Valentine Hay in 1846. See above for children.
