1. Johann Guelstorff born Mecklenburg Germany. First wife was Sophie Priessing Guehlstorff. Second wife was Barbara Engel Vosburgh. Farmer in Germany and the US. Step-father of Edward Guehlstorff. Guehlstorff’s Grove was site of many Evangelical Camp Meetings!
2. Sophie Guelstorff Maiden Name was Priessing. No children. Born Germany. First wife of Johann Guehlstorff.
3. Johann Priessing was brother of Sophie Priessing Guehlstorff. Born Germany. Related to Gaebel family of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
4. Barbara Goetz was second wife of Johann Guehlstorff. Born Barbara Louise Engel in Merckwiller, Alsace France. (Germans). Parents were Michel and Barbe Shmitt Engel. Hohwiller Alsace France. First husband was George Vosburg. Their son Lewis Edward Vosburg born in New York City. The family moved to Cass County with Vosburg’s parents. George Vosburg divorced Barbara went to work for neighbors the Guelhstorff’s. Barbara married Johann Guehlstorff who had just lost his wife. When Johann died, Barbara marries Rev. Goetz, retired Evangelical minister, buried Elmwood.
5. Edward Guehlstorff was son was son of George Vosburg and Barbara Vosburg (see above) Edward was adopted by Johann Guelstorff in court action in Plattsmouth. Edward farmed father’s farm. Married Lena Muller. Children: John, Delmer and Elmer (twins), and Connie.
6. Lena Guehlstorff’s maiden name was Karoline (Lena) Muller. She was born Merckwiller, Alsace Germany. Her parents were Frederic and Louise Nippert Muller. Father was a blacksmith. Immigrated. Married Edward Guehlstorff.
7. Glen Bowman was an orphan. His father brought him from Boone, Ia. Rto the Christioan Home in Council Bluffs Ia. Because his father couldn’t care for him. Johann and Barbara Guehlstorff took him as foster son but did not adopt him. Lived his life with the Guehlstorffs. Had spine deformity. Gentle and kind.
