Purchase of Lot #29 by Louis Eickhoff June 3, 1895. Paid $5.00
1. Fredrich Eickhoff born in Germany. He and wife and family immigrated. Fredrich was a tailor. Fredrich stayed a brief time in NY and Chicago. Came to Cass Co. in 1859. Stayed in Plattsmouth area a few years and then came to Louisville Prec. Sec 32. Eventually had 400 acres. Father of Louis Eickhoff, Sr. Many German immigrant families got their starts on Eickhoff land.
2. Marie Switzer Eickhoff was wife of Fredrich Eickhoff. Born Germany. Mother of Louis Eickhoff , Sr. and Minnie Eickhoff Inhelder (See Lot 26). Sophie Eickhoff was daughter of Christian Fredrich and Anna Christine Brunko ( See Lot 14 ). Wife of Louis Eickhoff . Sr Louis and Sophia had nine children: Agnes Schmidt ( See Lot 2 ) , Rose, John, Otto, Della, Louis, Nettie, and Rebecca. Five children grew to adulthood. After Sophie Eickhoff died , Louis Sr. remarried to Mrs. Striuk. They moved to Okla. Louis Sr is buried in Okla.
3. Louis Eickhoff, Sr. was instrumental in starting Emmanuel Church. He organized Evangelical Assn meetings in Dutch Academy School near his home when rev. Jacob Gruner came from Ackley, Ia. To conduct meetings. A parsonage was built diagonally across the road from the cemetery. It was 1872. Then, the church was built in 1874. Louis and Sophia Eickhoff were charter members of Emmanuel Church. Louis Eickhoff sold the land to the townsite company to establish Murdock.
Rebecca Eickhoff was daughter of Louis Eickhoff, Sr. and Sophie Eickhoff.
Loui Eickhoff, Jr. was son of Louis Eickhoff, Sr. and Sophie Eickhoff.
Nettie Eickhoff was daughter of Louis Eickhoff, and Sophie Eickhoff.
